Reggie Rockstone also known as Ghana’s hiplife Grandpapa has dispelled
claims that he is too old to be part of the music group VVIP.
Even though he admits he is old and has accomplished a lot in music as
well as being the originator of hiplife, he does not see himself as too
big for the group when it comes to its current state.
“I have accomplished a lot and I am older than the rest in the group but
this is not the case when it comes to music. There is that humility and
respect that is how we have come out with hit tracks like ‘Skolom” ft
Sena Dagadu and “Alhaji” enjoying massive airplay and patronage. When it
comes to music age is not a factor, what matters is the ability to
coordinate well and deliver”, he told Nana Hemaa on Abusua Fm’s Weekend
Entertainment Show.
The hiplife Grandpapa in 2014 stated “regardless of my age, I have
humbled myself to join my younger brothers, it has not happened before
and that is why I call it historical”
Subsequently when Promzy left the group, he joined the VIP which saw its
rebirth into the VVIP and the group afterwards has come out with
several hit songs including the infamous “Selfie”
